Christmas, New Year and all that comes with it

It is the time of the year again where the warm, fuzzy feeling inside grows strong and the need to contemplate on one’s life springs up like a jack in the box.  As much as some of us would like to think otherwise, we are all creatures of habit.  December means resolutions.

I shall start with reflections of the past year before I move on to resolutions.  What has 2010 been for me?  A roller-coaster of everything; good, bad, easy, hard, happy, sad, etc.  It has probably been the most eye-opening year of my life (so far!).

It was in 2010 that I seriously considered to be a writer and got off my lazy ass and did something about it.  At the same time, I also managed to kick-off my freelance career (somewhat by chance!) in event production/management.

On a roll of high, I feel optimistic and energized to move forward in life.  Six months ago, I was probably singing a very different tune.

So, what does 2011 have in offer for me?

Frankly, I don’t know and I am not that fussed about plotting the year out in milestones.  I have learnt this year that it is very important to keep optimistic and flexible, especially in receiving what life has to throw at us.  I am just going to try to be happy, regardless of what I do.  I will also try and stop worrying about what is around the corner.

Happy New Year everyone!  May 2011 bring some nice surprises into your lives.

ps: A friend suggested last night at a Christmas party that I should put as my NY resolution to go clubbing more.  I think I would like that.
